Real Estate Council of British Columbia
The Real Estate Council of British Columbia (Council) is a regulatory agency established by the provincial government in 1958. Its mandate is to protect the public interest by enforcing the licensing and licensee conduct requirements of the Real Estate Services Act. The Council is responsible for licensing individuals and brokerages engaged in real estate sales, rental and strata property management. The Council also enforces entry qualifications, investigates complaints against licensees and imposes disciplinary sanctions under the Act.
BCREA – British Columbia Real Estate Association
The British Columbia Real Estate Association (BCREA) is the professional association for more than 18,500 REALTORS® in BC, focusing on provincial issues that impact real estate. Working with the province’s 11 real estate boards, BCREA provides continuing professional education, advocacy, economic research and standard forms to help REALTORS® provide value for their clients.
VIREB – Vancouver Island Real Estate Board
The Vancouver Island Real Estate Board (VIREB) is a not for profit, member-based association of more than 1000
REALTORS® who live and work in communities from the top of the Malahat to the northern tip of Vancouver Island. The Board advances and promotes the interests of those engaged in the business of real estate.
